Back to the Basics
As we all know, the military can prove to be a challenging lifestyle. What most of us don't know is that the transition to the civilian world is even harder. I have know been off active duty for around four years, and out of the military completely for just under a year.
The one thing that I have learned during my last few years is that you need to make sure that you are happy and that you take care of yourself. In today's world, there are so many coming home with PTSD, disabilities, having trouble finding work, not knowing where to start their education, and the list goes on.
After leaving the military I found myself in a state of happiness knowing that I could once again have a "life" but really didn't understand what that meant. Later I started to struggle with finding work, schooling and my personal health. I am know married to a beautiful woman, have a beautiful two year old daughter, and am starting to regain my health. To be clear, when I say health I am referring to my level of fitness that I once held so high.
My goal in these writings is to show you how I have progressed, the resources I have used and different ways that you can help ease your transition.
